THE COMPANY
A £50m division of a FTSE 100 business that employs 90,000 people globally, our client is the leading supplier of specialist cleaning and soft services to the Air and Rail sector.

Following an internal promotion they are looking to recruit a rising star, to work as a business development manager and convert a £25m pipeline of business.

THE ROLE
Working closely with the highly experienced, newly promoted Business Development Director, the business development manager will receive a structured 4 week induction, followed by first class training, providing them with an in depth knowledge of the Air and Rail industry.

Working in a close knit sales and operations team, the business development manager will pick up an established set of relationships at senior management level.

Through the provision of a complete outsourced solution, the business development manager will focus their time on major contracts worth in excess of £250,000 per year.

This strategic role will require the business development manager to gain an in depth understanding of tenders and RFI’s, get under the skin of prospective clients and forge relationships over periods of 6-12 months.

Relationships will be built directly with the Airports and BAA in the Airline sector, then with Network Rail and the train operators, both for Underground and Overground services in the rail sector.

This business development manager role will suit a hard working, relationship builder that has previous experience of either selling solutions to the air and rail sector or experience of selling FM services to the commercial world.

THE PERSON
Applicants currently working as business development managers, sales executives, account managers or in any professional sales role with a provable track record of success are invited to apply if they have -
Essential
- 4 years Business to Business service sales experience
- Strong work ethic
- Experience of multi million pound contract negotiations
- Excellent relationship builder – both internally and externally

Desirable
- Experience of sales in the air and rail industry
- Knowledge of the facilities management or soft services industry
- Ability to cross sell and network at all levels
- Tender or RFI experience beneficial
- Ability to listening and learn quickly
- Driven and career minded
- Down to earth, straight talking
- Ability to work in a small, yet dynamic team
