Our client has been producing some of the finest bakery products from the heart of rural Cheshire. Each week over 2 million of the finest breads and morning goods are baked for retail and catering customers throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. The company has been trading since the early 1900’s and has continued to invest over the years in bread bakery. Recently investments have seen the completion of a second bread production line.

THE ROLE
This role will be reporting directly into the Site Manager and will have overall responsibility for operational, legislative and financial management of the transport department, delivering required levels of customer service. The key areas of responsibility will include maintaining full compliance with transport and H&S legislation including implementation of policies and procedures. Development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies, with ownership of departmental budgets and management of service costs of all service providers and contractors.
THE PERSON
This position would suit a qualified Transport Manager who has experience of working within and fast moving consumer goods environment, preferably within the food industry. Previous work experience within a busy transport department where you have been accustomed to managing a fleet, budgets, O- Licence and enforcing change would be essential along with a pro-active attitude and strong management and interpersonal skills.
